On November 30, Tate Dobson of Healdsburg, California, ran for six hours at a local roundabout. “Looking back, it was torturous mentally and physically on my legs,” he said about the feat fueled exclusively by Mott’s fruit gummies.
Speaking of Strava, their 2022 Year in Sport report indicates that the number of runners on Strava who finished a marathon nearly doubled from 2021. In fact, the data suggests a post-pandemic marathon boom.
And why not another boom to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of Frank Shorter’s 1972 marathon win in Munich that started the U.S. running boom?
Australian runner Erchana Murray-Bartlett continues her epic quest to run from Cape York to Naarm (6,330 kilometers) for the country’s at-risk wildlife. That translates into one marathon a day for 155 consecutive days.
